What If I Change My Mind About The NHS Prescription Service?

We completely understand that sometimes circumstances change, and you may decide that our online NHS pharmacy service isn’t the perfect fit for you anymore. You can try a different online pharmacy or return to a local one near you. The choice is entirely yours. And, we want to make the process as straightforward and stress-free as possible.

When you register with our service, you nominate us as your NHS pharmacy. This means your GP electronically sends your prescriptions directly to us instead of another pharmacy. However, this nomination is not set in stone; you can change it at any time to better suit your preferences or needs.

If you decide to switch pharmacies, here are the simple options available to you:
  • Update your nominated pharmacy using the NHS App: This is often the quickest and easiest method. You can select your new preferred pharmacy at any time through the app, this option may not work if you wish to nominate another online pharmacy.

  • Contact your GP surgery: Call or visit your GP’s office and request that they update your nominated pharmacy details to the one you want.

  • Ask your new pharmacy to nominate themselves: Many pharmacies are happy to help you with this process and can contact your GP directly to change your nomination.

Once your nomination has been updated, any new prescriptions from your GP will automatically be sent to the pharmacy you have chosen. You don’t need to inform us or formally cancel your registration. You can simply switch your nomination at any time, and we’ll take care of the rest.

What about any existing prescriptions?

If we’ve already received a prescription from your GP before you switch, we will continue to process it. We will also dispatch it as normal, unless you tell us otherwise. If you want to cancel any pending orders, please reach out as soon as possible. We’ll assist you promptly.

If you have any questions about switching or need support, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. We’re always here to help make your NHS prescription experience as smooth and convenient as possible.
