Canesbalance BV Vaginal Pessaries are a clinically proven treatment designed to relieve the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis, a common condition caused by an imbalance in vaginal bacteria. This imbalance can lead to symptoms include an unpleasant fishy odour, grey or white discharge, and possible irritation or itching.
Each pessary contains a combination of lactic acid and glycogen which work together to restore the vagina’s natural pH. This formula helps to restrict the growth of unwanted bacteria, and support the growth of beneficial vaginal bacteria, keeping the vagina healthy.

Other Ingredients
Macrogols, sodium hydroxide, pH 3.6 – 4.2.
For use in adults:
- For best results, use at bedtime.
- Wash your hands thoroughly before and after use.
- Remove one pessary from the foil wrapper.
- Insert the pessary deeply into the vagina using your finger.
- Use one pessary once a day for 7 consecutive days.
For vaginal use only. Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve sooner.
Precautions
- Suitable for adults only.
- Suitable for vaginal use only.
- Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult a doctor if you have a BV infections while pregnant.
- Before you use any BV treatment, you should confirm the condition by visiting a sexual health clinic or GP, using a home testing kit, or if you have had BV before and recognise the symptoms.
- Do not use this treatment if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
Storage
- Store below 25°C.
- Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
- Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Common side effects may include:
- Mild irritation
- Temporary burning or stinging after insertion
- Increased vaginal discharge as the pessary dissolves
Uncommon side effects may include:
- Severe irritation
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat. This is sign of an allergic reaction. Stop using the product and seek urgent medical attention.
