The Family Chemist Achieves ‘Good Practice’ Recognition in Latest GPhC Inspection
We’re proud to announce that The Family Chemist has passed its latest inspection by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), achieving an overall outcome of “Standards Met” with no actions required.
Beyond meeting all required standards, the inspection also identified multiple areas of ‘Good Practice’. This is independent recognition of how we deliver safe, high-quality pharmacy services every day.
Why this matters
Not all online pharmacies operate to the same standard. GPhC inspections exist to protect the public by ensuring pharmacy services are safe, effective and well governed.
This result provides reassurance to anyone using, considering, or working within The Family Chemist that:
- Services are fully regulated and independently assessed
- Patient safety and clinical quality are embedded in everyday practice
- The organisation operates with clear accountability and strong governance
Whether you are a patient, partner, regulator or team member, this outcome reflects a pharmacy that is operating responsibly and to a high professional standard.
Recognised for how we work, not just that we passed
A GPhC inspection looks beyond a simple pass or fail. It examines how services are delivered in practice.
We were recognised for:
- Strong governance and risk management, with processes that are actively reviewed to protect patient safety
- A culture of continuous improvement, using clinical audits to monitor and enhance outcomes
- Openness and accountability, where teams are encouraged to learn, share feedback and improve
- Ongoing training and development, ensuring colleagues have the skills to deliver safe and effective care
These Good Practice findings reflect the discipline behind the scenes, where safety, quality and accountability guide decision making at every level.
Scaling responsibly
This was our first inspection since moving to larger premises in Autumn 2025, supporting our continued growth as a national online pharmacy.
Passing with strong outcomes at this stage reinforces an important principle. Growth and high standards are not in conflict. They must go hand in hand.
A shared achievement
This result reflects the work of our entire team. From clinical checks and consultations to dispensing and delivery, every step plays a role in maintaining safe and effective care. It is a collective effort, built on professionalism, attention to detail and a shared commitment to doing things properly.
Looking ahead
For us, a GPhC inspection is not just a regulatory requirement. It is an important benchmark of quality and trust.
We remain focused on continuously improving our services and raising the standard of online pharmacy care, for the benefit of our patients and the wider public.
Our commitment to quality and care
Sunny Dhain, Co-Founder and Clinical Director at The Family Chemist, said:
“This inspection is an important moment for us because it reflects how we operate every day, not just on inspection day. Patient safety, clinical quality and doing things properly are built into our processes and our culture. As we continue to grow, maintaining these standards is non-negotiable. We are proud that the GPhC has recognised the strength of our governance and the commitment of our team, and we remain focused on delivering care that patients and the wider public can trust.”
