Vitamin D Self-Test Kit

The easy-to-use testing kit that checks vitamin D levels.

Vitamin D helps to regulate calcium and phosphate levels, which are essential for keeping bones, teeth, and muscles healthy. The body produces vitamin D naturally when exposed to sunlight, or from certain foods such as oily fish, and egg yolk. However, during darker times of year, we may not get enough sunlight for the body to produce sufficient vitamin D.

Our self-testing kits can quickly test whether your vitamin D levels are low, high, or within a healthy range. This allows you to seek further support with nutritional advice or supplementation, or simply gain the peace of mind you need.

Follow this step-by-step guide on how to use our vitamin D self-testing kits:

  • Clean your finger with the alcohol swab provided.
  • Gentle prick the side of your fingertip with the lancet.
  • Massage (do not squeeze) downwards on the finger to obtain a sample.
  • Collect the blood sample onto the testing cassette along with two drops of buffer solution.
  • Wait ten minutes.
  • Read your results.
  • Do not interpret your results after 20 minutes.
  • Take a photo of your test results to share with a healthcare professional.
Precautions
  • Those at risk of low vitamin D and may benefit from using our test kits include children aged under 4 years old, those who are not outdoors over, those who wear clothes that cover their skin, and those with dark skin.
  • Symptoms of low vitamin D can include tiredness, aches and pains, bone or muscle weakness, low mood, and slow wound healing.
  • Results are shown within 10 minutes.
  • This test uses a blood sample. The box includes lancets for safe sample gathering.
  • While all of our tests are accurate, no test is 100%. They are designed to help you begin your health journey. They should be considered alongside clinical information and discussed with a clinician.
  • If your test gives unclear or invalid results, it is usually due to an insufficient sample volume or an incorrect procedure. If this happens, review the directions and repeat the process using a new test. Do not retry using the initial test.

Storage
  • Store below 25ºC.
  • Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and away from moisture.
