FAQs

Kwells is a fast-acting treatment used to prevent and relieve travel sickness (motion sickness). It helps stop symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, and vomiting that can occur when travelling by car, boat, plane, or train.

It contains the active ingredient hyoscine hydrobromide, which works by blocking nerve signals to the brain that cause feelings of motion sickness. This helps to calm the stomach and restore balance, allowing you to travel comfortably and confidently.

Kwells tablets are available in 300 micrograms tablets.

Kwells tablets are designed to dissolve quickly and can be chewed, sucked, or swallowed whole with water.

Patients are advised to: Take one tablet every six hours if needed. Do not take more than three tablets in 24 hours.

For most effective treatment, take the first dose at least 30 minutes before travel.

Kwells is suitable for most adults who experience travel sickness.

However, Kwells may not be suitable for everyone. Speak to a pharmacist or doctor before use if you:

  • Are over 60 years old
  • Have glaucoma
  • Have stomach, bowel, or urinary problems
  • Suffer from heart or liver disease
  • Have an overactive thyroid
  • Are taking other medications that cause drowsiness or dry mouth

Like all medications, Kwells can cause side effects, though not everyone will get them. The most common side effects include:

  • Dry mouth
  • Drowsiness or blurred vision
  • Constipation
  • Difficulty urinating

You should avoid alcohol while taking Kwells, as it can increase drowsiness. If you feel sleepy, you should avoud driving and operating any machinery.

Seek urgent medical treatment if you experience side effects such as confusion, hallucinations, or an allergic reaction (symptoms of which include swelling of the face, lips, or throat).

Kwells is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. You should always consult a healthcare professional if you are considering taking a new medication and are pregnant or breastfeeding. They can advise on the best course of treatment to ensure safety for yourself and baby.
