Pirinase Allergy Nasal Spray is a non-drowsy, nasal spray containing the corticosteroid fluticasone propionate. It helps to prevent and relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, including hay fever and airborne allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itching, runny or blocked nose and itchy, watery eyes.
Pirinase Allergy Spray delivers fluticasone propionate directly into the nose where it reduces inflammation caused by the body’s reaction to allergens like pollen, mould spores and dust. With regular daily use, it controls symptoms at the source and can provide up to 24-hour relief.
Active ingredients
Fluticasone Propionate 50 micrograms
Other ingredients
Dextrose(anhydrous),microcrystalline cellulose, carboxymethylcellulose sodium, phenylethyl alcohol, benzalkonium chloride, polysorbate 80, purified water and dilutehydrochloric acid.
Adults and children aged 12 years and over:
- Shake the bottle gently before use.
- Blow your nose gently.
- Close one nostril and place the nozzle into the other nostril.
- Spray two sprays into each nostril once daily, preferably in the morning.
- Once your symptoms have improved, you may be able to reduce the dose to one spray into each nostril daily.
For nasal use only.
Precautions
- Not suitable for children under the age of 12.
- Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
- Do not use if you are currently taking medication for HIV or any antifungal medication.
- Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
- Take care when using Pirinase if you have recently had surgery, an injury, or ulcers in your nose.
- This medication should not be used for more than 3 months continuously.
- If symptoms do not improve after 7 days of use, seek medical advice.
Storage
- Do not store above 30°C.
- Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
- Use within three months of first use once opened.
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Common side effects may include:
- Nose bleeds
- Headache
- Dryness or irritation in the nose or throat
- Unpleasant taste or smell
Uncommon side effects may include:
- Eye problems such as blurred vision
- Sores in the nose
