Migraine Combo Pack

The combo pack contains Imigran Nasal Spray, Ibuprofen, and Prochlorperazine Buccal. The combination of these three medications is essential for patients who want a complete treatment for symptoms of migraine.

Imigran contains the active ingredient sumatriptan, which is ideal for patients who feel nauseous and experience vomiting during a migraine attack or those who prefer a faster relief than tablets offer. 

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication used for pain relief.

And, prochlorperazine is an anti-sickness medicine that can help prevent nausea or vomiting, which is a common symptom of migraines. 

Treatment for a migraine attack should begin with Imigran Nasal Spray. The optimal dose of Imigran Nasal Spray is 20mg, however some patients may find that a 10mg dose is more effective. One dose should be used in one nostril at the onset of migraine symptoms. If symptoms recur, then a second dose may be used after at least two hours. 

If there is no response to treatment with Imigran, then ibuprofen can be used to treatment of pain symptoms associated with migraine. We provide ibuprofen 400mg tablets in our combination which can be taken as a single dose up to three times a day. 

Prochlorperazine 3mg buccal tablets can be used for the relief of nausea or vomiting. Tablets must be placed high between the upper lip and gum (buccal cavity) and left to dissolve. One or two tablets should be used up to twice a day and should not be taken for more than two days. 

Many patients experience no side effects from these medications, however the most common side effects can include:

Ibuprofen:

• feeling dizzy
• nausea or vomiting
• wind or indigestion

Prochlorperazine:

• feeling sleepy
• blurred vision
• dry mouth
• stuffy nose

Imigran Nasal Spray: 

• a warm-hot sensation
• tightness
• tingling
• flushing
• drowsiness
• feelings of heaviness or pressure in areas such as the face, arms, legs and occasionally the chest.

The possible side-effects of triptans such as Imigran varies from one person to the next and from one medication to the next. If Imigran Nasal Spray may cause side-effects, it is possible that another triptan or other migraine treatment may not cause side effects. If you develop chest pain or sensations, you should consult a doctor immediately or go directly to the nearest accident and emergency department.
