Winlevi Cream (Clascoterone)

What is Winlevi Cream?

Winlevi is a prescription topical cream containing 1% clascoterone. A new treatment that acts as the first topical androgen receptor inhibitor approved for the treatment of acne. Unlike traditional acne treatments, Winlevi works by targeting the hormonal component of acne directly within the skin, reducing excess sebum production (oil) and inflammation.

Winlevi can be used on acne present on the back. For back acne, up to three tubes of Winlevi may be purchased and may be preferable in order to cover the larger area. For those using Winlevi on their facial area, up to two tubes of cream may be purchased at any one time.

The Family Chemist offers a convenient and confidential way to purchase newly approved acne treatment; Winlevi online in the UK. Our online pharmacy ensures easy access to this new tested acne treatment, supported by expert skincare guidance and comprehensive customer care.

FAQs

Winlevi should be applied to the affected area(s) twice daily (morning and evening) after washing your face with mild soap. Follow this guide for the most effective results:

  1. Cleanse your face: Gentle wash your entire face with mild soap, and then pat your face dry with a soft towel.
  2. Apply a thin later: Using your fingertips, apply a pea-sized amount of Winlevi cream to the affected areas, usually including the forehead, nose, chin, and cheeks. Gently spread the cream over the entire face. Avoid contact with the eyes, eyelids, lips, and nostrils. This treatment is for external use only.
  3. Wash your hands: After applying Skinoren cream, wash your hands thoroughly to avoid accidentally spreading the medication to other parts of the body, or accidentally ingesting.

When it comes to Winlevi treatment, consistency is key. Winlevi may take several weeks of consistent use to show noticeable improvement in acne.

Using more than a thin layer will not help improve acne quicker, but may cause irritation. Do not over-apply.

In cases of a missed dose, do not double your next dose to make up for forgotten doses. Wait for your next usual dose.

Winlevi is generally well-tolerated, but some may experience mild side effects, especially when first starting treatment. These can include:

  • Temporary redness or warmth
  • Mild stinging or burning
  • Dryness or flaking
  • Slight itching

Most side effects are mild and temporary, settling as the skin adjusts to treatment. If irritation is severe or persistent, it’s recommended to reduce the frequency of application or consult a healthcare professional.

Winlevi is suitable for most people who are suffering from uncomfortable acne, however it may not suitable for everyone. You should avoid use if you:

  • Are allergic to clascoterone or any component of the cream
  • Have broken, infected, or severely irritated skin
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

It’s also important to check with a healthcare provider before using Winlevi alongside other topical acne treatments, as combining certain products may increase irritation.
