Voltarol Gel 2.32% (50g & 100g)

Voltarol Gel is a topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) pain relief gel used to locally relieve pain and inflammation in muscles, joints and soft tissues such as from sprains, strains, backache and sports injuries. It delivers diclofenac directly to the affected area to help reduce pain and swelling without the systemic side effects associated with oral painkillers. 

Active Ingredients

Diclofenac diethylammonium 2.32%

Other Ingredients

Buthylhydroxytoluene, carbomers, cocoyl caprylocaprate, diethylamine, isopropyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, macrogol cetostearyl ether, oleyl alcohol, propylene glycol, perfume eucalyptus sting, purified water.

Adults and children over the age of 14 years old:

1. Gentle squeeze a small amount of gel from the tube. The size should be that of a one pence or two pence coin.
2. Massage into the skin over the affected area(s).
3. Apply three to four times a day to the affected area.
4. Wash hands after use (unless they are the site being treated).

Do not use more than four times in a 24hr period. Do not use for more than 14 days. For external use only.

Precautions

• Not suitable for children under 14 years old. 
• Do not use if you are allergic to diclofenac or aspirin or other NSAIDs or have ever had an allergic reaction to these ingredients.
• Do not use if you have or have ever had asthma, wheezing, hives, swelling of the face or tongue, or runny nose after taking these ingredients.
• Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using, if you have a stomach or duodenal ulcer.
• Do not use if you are taking diclofenac or other painkillers known as NSAIDs such as aspirin or ibuprofen.
• Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Do not apply to cuts, wounds, sunburned skin or other area where the skin is abnormal, or near the eyes or nose.
• Do not cover with a bandage or plaster.
• Volterol is flammable; do not go near naked flames; clothing and bedding with this product dried on them can catch fire easily.

Storage

Store below 30ºC.

Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

Keep out of sight or reach of children.

Common side effects may include:

• Skin irritation, redness, itching, or rash at the application site
• Burning or stinging
• Dryness or dermatitis (inflamed skin)

Uncommon side effects may include:

• Increased sensitivity to sunlight
• Allergic reaction such as swelling, rash, or difficulty breathing.
