Strepsils Honey and Lemon combines the natural soothing comfort of honey with the refreshing sharpness of lemon to help ease sore throats and irritation. Designed to work quickly, Strepsils deliver effective relief you can rely on when your throat needs a little extra care.
Active Ingredients
2,4-Dichlorobenzyl alcohol 1.2mg, amylmetacresol 0.6mg
Other Ingredients
Honey, tartaric acid, peppermint oil (containing d-Limonene), terpeneless lemon oil (containing citral, d-Limonene, geraniol and linalool), quinoline yellow, liquid sucrose, liquid glucose (containing sulphites – sulphur dioxide (E220) and wheat starch (containing gluten)), potable water.
Adults and children over 6 years old:
- Dissolve one lozenge slowly in the mouth every 2 to 3 hours.
No more than 12 lozenges in a 24hr period. For oral use only.
Precautions
- Not suitable for children under 6 years old.
- Younger children should suck lozenges with caution due to choking hazard.
- If you are allergic to any of the ingredients, do not use this product.
- This product contains isomaltitol and maltitol syrup which may have a mild laxative effect if several are taken a day.
- If you are pregnant, or if you have been told by your doctor that you have intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this product.
- May cause allergic reactions, including asthma. This is more common if you are allergic to aspirin.
Storage
Store below 25 °C.
Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight or very warm areas (eg near radiators or in a hot car).
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Common side effects can include:
- Mild mouth or throat irritation, tingling, slight burning, or discomfort while the lozenge dissolves.
- Temporary numbness or altered taste in the mouth or throat.
Uncommon side effects can include:
- Oral discomfort beyond mild irritation/persistent mouth discomfort.
- Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea or mild stomach upset, particularly if many lozenges are eaten.
