Panadol Advance Extra 65mg/500mg Caplets (16)

Panadol Extra Advance Tablets is a pain relief and fever reducing medication that combines paracetamol with caffeine in each tablet.   

The active ingredient paracetamol works by reducing the production of pain and fever-causing chemicals (prostaglandins) in the body, helping to alleviate pain and lower temperature. Caffeine enhances the effectiveness of paracetamol and can speed up its absorption, meaning the medicine can start relieving pain quickly, often within about 10 minutes based on absorption data.

Active Ingredients

Paracetamol 500mg, caffeine 65mg  

Other Ingredients

Sodium methyl (E 219), sodium ethyl (E 215), sodium propyl (E 217) parahydroxybenzoates. 

Children ages 12 – 15 years old:

• Take one tablet every 4 – 6 hours as needed.

Do not take more than four tablets in a 24hr period.

Adults and children over 16 years old:

• Take one or two tablets every 4 – 6 hours as needed.

Do not take more often than every 4hrs. Do not take more than eight tablets in a 24hr period.

Precautions

• Not suitable for children under 12 years old.
• Do not take other medicines containing paracetamol at the same time.
• Avoid excessive caffeine intake (from coffee, tea, energy drinks) while using this product, as it may increase side effects such as restlessness or difficulty sleeping.
• If allergic to paracetamol, caffeine or any other ingredients, do not use.
• Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking if you have liver or kidney problems, drink alcohol regularly, or are on other medications.
• Not recommended during pregnancy or breast-feeding due to caffeine content.
• If symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical advice.

Storage

Store below 25°C.

Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and away from moisture. 

Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Common side effects may include

• Restlessness, shakiness or may be more alert than usual  
• Finding it difficult to sleep especially if taken late in the day 
• Mild stomach pains or nausea 

Uncommon side effects may include

• Headaches  
• Dizziness  
• Faster heart beat than usual
