Chlorhexidine Gluconate Antiseptic Mouthwash 0.2% w/v is a medicated treatment designed to help manage and prevent common gum problems, including gingivitis and oral thrush. It provides targeted antibacterial action to support healthier teeth and gums.

Formulated with chlorhexidine gluconate, this antimicrobial ingredient works by reducing harmful bacteria in the mouth. Regular use can help control plaque build-up, soothe irritated gums, and maintain good oral hygiene.

This mint-flavoured mouthwash leaves your mouth feeling clean and refreshed while delivering effective protection. It can be used daily as advised by your dentist or clinician.

Active Ingredients

Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.2% w/v.

 

Other Ingredients

Ethanol, Sorbitol, Macrogol Glycerol Hydroxystearate, Flavour E1640 10 N1 and Purified Water.

For adults and children over the age of 12 years:

  • Use as required, up to twice daily.
  • Fill the cap to the 10ml line.
  • Rinse the mouth thoroughly for 1 minute.

Precautions

  • Not suitable for children under the age of 12 years.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed in the Patient Information Leaflet.
  • For oral use only, do NOT swallow.
  • Keep out of contact of eyes and ears.
  • Brush your teeth before using the mouthwash, as toothpaste can affect how well the mouthwash works.
  • Consult your doctor before using if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

 

Storage

  • Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.  
  • Keep out of sight and reach of children.  
  • Store below 25°C.

Possible side effects:

  • When using this mouthwash, the tongue, teeth or fillings may become
    discoloured.
  • Occasionally this mouthwash can cause a skin reaction and very rarely may
    cause swelling of the salivary glands.
  • You may notice a change in the way things taste or even a burning sensation
    when using mouthwash. This usually goes away with continued use.
  • Patients should avoid tannin containing foods or drinks (such as tea, coffee
    and wine) for at least 1 hour after rinsing to avoid dental staining.
