Gaviscon Original Aniseed Relief is designed to help relieve the uncomfortable symptoms of heartburn and acid indigestion. It works by forming a protective layer over the stomach contents, helping to reduce the amount of acid that can move up into the food pipe and cause irritation. This oral suspension can also help manage symptoms linked to gastric reflux, where stomach acid travels upwards into the oesophagus. By creating a barrier on top of the stomach contents, it helps calm the burning sensation and discomfort often experienced after eating. The formula also helps ease bloating or gas that may occur alongside reflux symptoms. Its aniseed flavour makes it easier to take when relief is needed. Gaviscon Original Aniseed is available in 250 ml and 500 ml bottles.

Per 10ml : Sodium alginate 500 mg, Sodium bicarbonate 267 mg, Calcium carbonate 160 mg.

Warnings and Cautions
- Not suitable for children under 12 unless a doctor has advised to use.
- This medicine contains 1.1 mg benzyl alcohol in each 10 ml. Benzyl alcohol may cause allergic reactions.
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, as large amounts of benzyl alcohol can build up in the body and may cause side effects called “metabolic acidosis.”
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice if you have liver or kidney disease, as large amounts of benzyl alcohol can build up in your body and may cause side effects.
- Do not take this product if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
- Do not take this product within two hours of taking other medicines by mouth, as it may interfere with how some medicines work.
- Contains 142.6 mg sodium per 10 ml (7.1% of the recommended maximum daily intake for adults); consult your doctor before use if you are on a low-sodium diet.
- Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed.
Storage
- Do not store above 25°C.
- Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
