Gaviscon Double Action Liquid Mint

Gaviscon Double Action Liquid Mint is formulated to provide effective relief from the discomfort of heartburn and indigestion. Its dual-action formula works in two ways by helping to neutralise excess stomach acid while also creating a protective layer on top of the stomach contents to help prevent acid from rising into the food pipe. This combination helps calm the burning sensation in the chest and reduce irritation caused by reflux. The liquid starts working quickly and offers longer lasting relief compared with standard antacids, helping you feel more comfortable after meals or when symptoms occur. The refreshing mint flavour makes the liquid easy to take when relief is needed.

Active Ingredients

Per 10ml: Sodium alginate 500 mg, Sodium bicarbonate 213 mg, Calcium carbonate 325 mg.

Other Ingredients

Sodium, Carbomer, Methyl (E218) parahydroxybenzoate, Propyl (E216) parahydroxybenzoate, Sodium saccharin, Mint flavour, Sodium hydroxide, Water.

Adults and children 12 years and over

• Take 10–20 ml (two to four 5 ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day.

Children under 12 years

• Should only be taken on medical advice.

Warnings and Cautions

• Not suitable for children under 12 unless a doctor has advised to use.
• Do not take this product within two hours of taking other medicines by mouth, as it may interfere with how some medicines work.
• Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed.
• This product contains 127.88 mg sodium per 10 ml, equivalent to 6.4% of the recommended maximum daily intake of sodium for an adult. If you have been advised to follow a low sodium (salt) diet, speak to your doctor before taking this product.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice if you have liver or kidney disease, as large amounts of benzyl alcohol can build up in your body and may cause side effects.

Storage

• Do not store above 25°C. 
• Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
