Gaviscon Advance Liquid Aniseed (250ml)

Gaviscon Advance Liquid Aniseed is formulated to provide long-lasting relief from symptoms of acid reflux, heartburn and indigestion. Its advanced formula helps form a protective layer over the stomach contents, helping to prevent stomach acid from travelling up into the food pipe and causing discomfort. Designed to deliver stronger and longer-lasting relief than standard antacids, this formulation can help relieve symptoms such as a burning sensation in the chest, bloating, a sour taste in the mouth and difficulty swallowing. The soothing liquid works locally in the stomach and is designed not to enter the bloodstream. Gaviscon Advance Liquid Aniseed is the most suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding when taken as directed. It also contains a lower level of sodium compared with other products in the Gaviscon range, making it a suitable option for those seeking effective reflux relief with reduced sodium content.

Active Ingredients

Sodium alginate 1000 mg, Potassium hydrogen carbonate 200 mg.

Other Ingredients

Calcium carbonate, Carbomer, Methyl (E218) parahydroxybenzoates, Propyl (E216) parahydroxybenzoates, Benzyl alcohol (present in fennel flavour), Sodium saccharin, Sodium hydroxide, Aniseed flavour derived from fennel, Purified water

Adults and children 12 years and over:

• Take 5–10 ml (one to two 5 ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime.

Children under 12 years:

• Should only be taken on medical advice.

Warnings and Cautions

• Not suitable for children under 12 unless a doctor has advised to use.
• Do not take this product within two hours of taking other medicines by mouth, as it may interfere with how some medicines work.
• Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed.
• This medicine contains 57.85 mg sodium (main component of cooking/table salt) in each 5 ml. This is equivalent to 2.9% of the recommended maximum daily intake of sodium for an adult.
• Talk to your pharmacist or doctor if you need this medicine on a daily basis for a prolonged period of time, especially if you have been advised to have a low salt diet.

Storage

• Do not store above 25°C. 
• Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children. 

Uncommon side effects may include:

• Diarrhoea
• Nausea
• Vommiting
