EarCalm is a direct ear spray used to treat minor infections and irritation of the external ear canal (otitis externa/swimmer’s ear). Suitable for adults and children over 12 years old, EarCalm works by delivering a mild acidic solution directly into the ear to stop the growth of bacteria and some fungi. Targeting the source of the infection so the ear can heal. 

Active ingredients

Acetic acid 2%

 

Other ingredients

Macrogol stearyl ether, stearyl alcohol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), and purified water.

Adults and children over 12 years old:

  • Before using a new bottle of EarCalm shake well and press the pump down to spray a ‘test-dose’.
  • When using place the nozzle tip gently into your ear.
  • Press the pump once to deliver the measured dose.
  • Spray one measured dose into each ear at least three times daily (morning, evening and after swimming, showering or bathing).
  • Wipe the nozzle clean after each use.
  • Leave at least 2-3 hours between doses.
  • Continue treatment until 2 days after symptoms have disappeared. 

Do not use for more than seven continuous days.

Precautions
  • Not suitable for children under 12 years old.
  • Do not use if you have, or think you have a perforated eardrum.
  • Do not use if you have any ear pain.
  • Stop use if your hearing becomes effects, or symptoms worsen.
  • Seek advice before using if you are breast feeding, pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suffer from allergies. 
Storage

Store below 25ºC. 

Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Use within one month of first use.

Common side effects can include:
  • Temporary stinging, burning, or irritation in the ear.

 

Uncommon side effects can include:
  • Allergic reaticion (rash, swelling, or worsening symptoms).
