Clotrimazole is an antifungal medicine used to treat a wide range of fungal infections, including skin conditions such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch, and other sweat rashes affecting the skin. Clotrimazole works by inhibiting the growth of fungi, preventing the infection from spreading and allowing the affected area to heal.
Active Ingredients
Clotrimazole 1%
Other Ingredients
Purified water, 2-octyldodecanol, stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, cetyl palmitate, sorbitan stearate, polysorbate 60, benzyl alcohol.
Adults and children over the age of 1 month:
- Clean and dry the affected area before application.
- Apply to the affected area two or three times a day.
- Use the cream for at least two weeks. In some cases it may be necessary to continue to use the cream for more than four weeks.
For external use only.
Precautions
- Do not use on broken skin or open wounds.
- Avoid contact with eyes or mouth.
- Do not use if allergic to clotrimazole or any other ingredients.
- When applied to genital areas, this product may reduce the effectiveness of latex contraceptives such as condoms or diaphragms. Use alternative contraception during treatment and for several days afterwards.
Storage
Store below 25°C.
Store in cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Common side effects can include:
- Redness, itching, or irritation of the treated area
- Mild burning, or stinging sensation
- Dryness or flaking of the skin
Uncommon side effects can include:
- Allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or hives
- Discolouration of treated skin
