Capasal Therapeutic Shampoo (250ml)

Revitalise your scalp with Capasal Shampoo, specially formulated to combat dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. Enriched with coal tar and other active ingredients, this therapeutic shampoo helps reduce flaking, itching, and inflammation. Regular use promotes a healthier scalp and clearer hair, leaving you feeling refreshed and confident.

This shampoo is a specially developed combination of three active ingredients that have been shown over many years of widespread use to be effective in treating most forms of the dry, scaly scalp. It is also particularly convenient for removing previous ointment or cream scalp applications. As it is a medicinal shampoo, Capasal has a distinctive (but not unpleasant) aroma, which is evident during use but diminishes when the hair is dried. Capasal does not contain any steroids.

Active Ingredients

Salicylic acid 0.5%, coconut oil 1.0%, distilled coal tar 1.0%

Other Ingredients

Lauric acid diethanolamide, coco amido propyl dimethyl betaine (contains sodium benzoate as a preservative), triethanolamine lauryl sulfate (contains methylchloroisothiazolinone/methylisothiazolinone (3:1) as a preservative), ammonium sulfate, phenoxyethanol, and purified water.

For all ages:

• Wet the hair thoroughly.
• Apply a small amount of shampoo to the scalp (approximately a quantity the size of a fifty pence coin for short hair, adjusting up depending on length/thickness of hair).
• With the tips of the fingers, massage in thoroughly.
• Leave on for a few minutes.
• Remove as much lather as possible with the hands (this is important as it will take the scales with it).
• Rinse out well under running water.
• Repeat daily if necessary, reducing the frequency of use to once or twice a week as the condition improves.

For external use only.

Precautions

• Suitable for all ages. For children under 12 years old may need help with application and safety of medication. 
• This medication contains coal tar, which can potentially discolour light-coloured hair, including blonde and grey. While it is generally safe for use on colour-treated hair, it’s advisable to test a small amount on a hidden section of hair first.
• Do not use Capasal shampoo if you are allergic to salicylic acid, coconut oil, distilled coal tar or any of the other ingredients of Capasal Therapeutic Shampoo.
• Keep the away from eyes. If product does get into the eyes, rinse with plenty of water.

Storage

• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• Always replace the cap tightly after use.
• Store below 25°C.
• Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

Uncommon side effects can include:

• Irritation of scalp (usually only occurs on extremely sensitive skin)
• Allergic reaction (such as itching, redness, swelling or a rash)

These rare effects tent to occur during or soon after the first few uses.
