Canesten 1% Cream (20g)

Canesten 1% Cream is an antifungal treatment for common fungal skin infections, including ringworm, athlete’s foot, fungal sweat rash, and nappy rash. The cream is applied directly to the affected area, helping to stop fungal growth and relieve symptoms such as redness, itching, and irritation. Its active ingredient, clotrimazole, works on the fungus’s cell structure to allow the infection to clear while soothing discomfort.

Other Ingredients

Benzyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, cetyl palmitate, cetostearyl alcohol, octyldodecanol, purified water.

Adults and children over 1 month old (depending on use):

• Clean and dry the area before application.
  • If feet are infected, they should be washed and dried between the toes before applying the cream.
• Apply a thin layer two – three times a day.
• Rub in gently.
• The length of treatment depends on the type of infection. A minimum of two weeks treatment is required, though you may be recommended up to four weeks treatment if necessary.

 For external use only. 

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to clotrimazole or any other ingredients.
• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or broken skin.
• When applied to genital areas, this product may reduce the effectiveness of latex contraceptives such as condoms or diaphragms. Use alternative contraception during treatment and for several days afterwards.
• Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or do not improve within the recommended treatment period.

Storage

Store below 25°C. 

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Common side effects can include: 

• Mild burning or stinging at the application site 
• Redness or itching of the skin 

Uncommon or rare side effects can include: 

• Skin rash 
• Allergic reactions such as swelling or severe irritation 

Stop using the cream and seek medical advice if signs of an allergic reaction occur.
