Calpol Infant is a pain reliever and fever reducer designed specifically for babies and young children from 2 months up to 6 years. It comes as a gentle liquid suspension and helps ease pain from teething, colds, sore throats, earache and minor aches, as well as reducing high temperatures such as those after immunisations

Active Ingredients

Paracetamol 120mg/5ml 

Other Ingredients

Maltitol liquid (E965), sodium, benzyl alcohol, E1520, E420, E218, E216, E214.  

Shake the bottle for at least 10 second before use.

 

Babies aged 2 – 3 months, and weighing more than 4kg:

  • Give one 2.5ml (60mg) dose.
  • Can give another 2.5ml dose after 4 – 6 hours if needed.

Do not give more than two doses in a 24hr period.

 

 

3 – 6 months:

  • Give 2.5ml (60mg) up to four times a day.

 

6 months – 2 years:

  • Give 5ml (120mg) up to four times a day.

 

2 – 4 years:

  • Give 7.5ml (180mg) up to four times a day.

 

4 – 6 years:

  • Give 10ml (240mg) up to four times a day.

 

Leave at least 4 hours between doses. After use replace the cap on the top of the bottle tightly. Use the syringe or spoon for easy administration of medication. Always wash the syringe or spoon in warm water and allow to dry after each use. For oral use only.

 

Precautions
  • Not suitable for babies under 2 months old. 
  • Do not give your child more than the recommended amount. 
  • Avoid using any other medicines that contain paracetamol.  
  • If your child’s symptoms continue for more than three days or get worse, speak to a healthcare professional.  
  • Stop use and seek medical advice immediately if you see signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, swelling or difficulty breathing. 
Storage 
  • Store below 25°C.
  • Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. 
  • Keep out of sight and reach of children. 
Common side effects can include:
  • Mild skin rash
  • Slight upset stomach or nausea
Uncommon or rare side effects can include:
  • Allergic reactions such as redness, swelling, itching, or hives
  • Severe allergic reaction (very rare): swelling of the face, tongue, or throat; difficulty breathing
  • Rare liver or kidney effects with prolonged or excessive use
