Beconase Hayfever Spray 0.05% is a nasal spray designed to ease common allergy symptoms, including hay fever, reactions to dust, and pet allergies.

It contains an active ingredient called beclometasone, which belongs to a group of medicines known as corticosteroids. This ingredient helps reduce inflammation inside the nose. When you come into contact with allergens such as pollen, dust mites, or animal dander, the lining of your nose can become swollen and irritated. This can lead to sneezing, itching, congestion, and a runny nose.

The spray is applied directly into the nose twice a day, targeting the area where allergy symptoms begin. By calming the inflammation in this area, it helps relieve discomfort and improve breathing.

Beconase is non drowsy, meaning it does not cause sleepiness and can be used during normal daily activities.

Active ingredient

  • 50 micrograms beclometasone dipropionate per spray.

Other ingredients

  • Microcrystalline Cellulose, Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose, Dextrose, Polysorbate 80, Purified Water, Benzalkonium Chloride and Phenylethyl Alcohol.

Adults aged 18years and above:

Two sprays into each nostril every morning and evening. Once your symptoms have improved you may be able to reduce the dose to one spray into each nostril morning and evening. Use regularly.

  • Shake the bottle well and remove the dust cap.
  • Blow your nose gently.
  • Close one nostril and out the nozzle in the other nostril.
  • Tilt your head forward slightly and keep the bottle upright.
  • Start to breathe in slowly through your nose. While you are breathing in, squirt a spray of fine mist into your nostril by pressing down firmly on the collar with your fingers.
  • Breathe out through your nose. Repeat in the same nostril for second spray.
  • Remove the nozzle and complete the same steps for the other nostril.

Precautions

  • Do not use if you are under 18 years.
  • For nasal use only.

  • Beconase contains 0.02 mg benzalkonium chloride in each spray. Benzalkonium chloride may cause irritation or swelling inside the nose, especially if used for a longtime. Benzalkonium chloride may cause wheezing and breathing difficulties (bronchospasm), especially if you have asthma.
