A hay fever relief tablet containing fexofenadine hydrochloride, a non-drowsy antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, itchy or blocked nose and itchy, red or watery eyes. Fexofenadine works by blocking the action of histamine, a natural chemical released by the body during an allergic reaction. This helps reduce inflammation and typical allergy symptoms triggered by pollen, dust and other allergens.
Active ingredient
Fexofenadine 120mg.
Other ingredients
Red iron oxide (E172), yellow iron oxide (E172) and macrogel 400.
Adults and children over 12 years old:
- Take one tablet (120mg) once daily with water, preferably before a meal.
Do not take more than one tablet in a 24hr period.
Precautions
- Not suitable for children under 12 years old.
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Allevia if you have problems with your liver, kidneys, you have or ever had heart disease.
- Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Do not take if you are allergic to fexofenadine or any other ingredients.
- Due to common side effects, such as sleepiness or dizziness, check how you react before driving or operating machinery.
Storage
Store below 25°C.
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and sunlight.
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Common side effects can include:
- Headache
- Drowsiness
- Dizziness
- Nausea
If affected, do not drive or operate machinery.
If you experience any severe side effects, stop use immediately and seek medical advice.
