How Do I Register for NHS Prescription Service?

Registering for our NHS Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is quick, simple, and entirely free. At The Family Chemist, we’ve made the sign-up process as smooth as possible so you can start receiving your NHS prescriptions efficiently and without hassle.

To get started, just fill out our online EPS Sign Up form. It’s important to ensure that all your information is accurate and up to date, particularly your full name and address as registered with your GP surgery. This ensures we can link your EPS nomination correctly and avoid delays in processing your prescriptions.

As part of the registration, we’ll also ask you to provide details regarding your NHS prescription exemption status. This might include:

  • Prepayment certificates (PPCs or HRT PPCs)

  • Tax credit exemptions

  • Medical exemption certificates

  • Maternity or low-income exemptions

  • Full-time education exemption

Providing this information helps us ensure that your prescriptions are processed in line with NHS regulations and that you are not overcharged or fined.

What You Need to Know:

  • You must be registered with a GP surgery in England.

  • You must receive NHS prescriptions issued by NHS England.

  • This service is only available to NHS patients in England.

Once registered, we will then be able to nominate The Family Chemist as your chosen pharmacy. This means your GP will send your prescriptions to us electronically, allowing for faster processing and free home delivery straight to your door.

If your circumstances change; such as a new address, or updated exemption status, you can easily log in to your The Family Chemist account dashboard to make updates. We review account changes daily and apply any updates promptly, helping to keep your prescription services running smoothly.

With EPS, you’ll never need to visit the GP or pharmacy in person just to collect a paper prescription. Sign up today to enjoy convenience, reliability, and expert pharmacy care from The Family Chemist.
