How should I apply my emollient?
For the best results when using an emollient, you should apply it in the direction of hair growth to avoid blocking hair follicles.Â
Emollients can be used generously, smoothed into the skin, and can be applied as often as needed, especially after bathing or whenever your skin feels dry.Â
Do I need to be having an eczema flare-up to use an emollient?
Absolutely not. Anyone can use emollients, including people who don’t have eczema or aren’t currently having a flare-up. Regular use helps keep the skin moisturised, protected, and less likely to become irritated, avoiding future flare-ups from occurring.Â
Who can use emollients?

Do most emollients contain paraffin? Is it safe?
Many emollients do contain paraffin-based ingredients, which help lock in moisture and protect the skin. Keep fabric which has touched emollients away from flame; including clothing or bedding.Â
