Lansoprazole FAQs

Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor. Essentially, it inhibits the release of acid in the stomach, thereby reducing acid reflux.

The recommended dose is 15 mg or 30 mg daily. Relief of symptoms is obtained rapidly; however, individual adjustment of dosage should be considered. This medication should be taken in the morning at least half an hour before food for best absorption.
