NHS Morning After Pill

This questionnaire will help our pharmacist provide better advice and support during your consultation and should only take approximately 2 minutes to complete. You can complete this questionnaire if you’re female, between your menarche (first period) and up to age 49 looking for the morning-after pill (emergency contraception).

Please note we are closed on weekends and Bank Holidays, if you need this medication urgently, please contact GP/111 or local pharmacy.

4. What date and time did you have unprotected sex?

  • ellaOne can be used up to 5 days (120 hours) after sexual intercourse, whereas Levonelle, or generic levonorgestrel, can be used up to 3 days (72 hours) after intercourse. The earlier it is taken, the more effective it is.

5. Are you currently taking the pill or any other form of contraception?

Regular contraception is more reliable than occasional use of emergency contraception. Coils, implants or injections are the most reliable. Contraceptive pills, patches, vaginal rings, caps or condoms are other reliable contraceptives.
