What Your Readings Mean

The inner ear thermometer measures the temperature of the energy radiating from the ear drum. Offing accuracy at measuring core temperature of the whole body. This is because the core body temperature is regulated by the hypothalamus in the base of the brain, which shares the same blood supply as the ear drum.

Understanding your temperature readings is essential to maintaining good health. Here’s what the different temperature ranges can indicate:

Our inner ear thermometers are suitable for all ages, but ideal for families looking for reliable thermometer to monitor their health at home, for people needing quick, constant temperature readings during fever, illness, or general check-ups, and for healthcare providers who need an easy-to-use tool for taking patient temperature readings. Inner ear thermometers are ideal for those wishing for a more hygienic and comfortable way to measure body temperature compared to the digital oral thermometer.

Directions for Use

  1. Ensure a fresh, clean probe cover is securely attached to the thermometer tip.
  2. Gently pull the ear up and back to straighten the ear canal.
  3. Place the thermometer tip into the ear canal, pointing it towards the ear drum. Don’t force it.
  4. Press and release the measurement button.
  5. Wait or the thermometer to beep once the reading is complete, usually within seconds.
  6. Record the reading displayed on the screen showing your temperature in either Celsius or Fahrenheit.
  7. Dispose of the probe cover.
  8. Clean the thermometer thoroughly after each use to ensure it remains hygienic.

Please Note:

  • If you are tracking temperature changes, take measurements in the same ear each time.
  • Moderate amounts of earwax do not significantly affect readings, however a blocked ear canal can lead to lower readings.
  • While the thermometer is suitable for all ages, those who are unable to follow directions of the thermometer, such as children, may need help using the device and taking readings.
