What to Do if we are Closed

At The Family Chemist, we’re committed to supporting you with your NHS prescriptions and pharmacy-related healthcare advice. However, we understand that health concerns don’t always happen during our operating hours. If you find yourself needing help when we’re closed, don’t worry. There are still plenty of options for getting the care and support you need.

Use NHS 111

For health concerns that can’t wait until we reopen, NHS 111 is your first point of contact. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be accessed online at 111.nhs.uk or by calling 111. When you contact NHS 111, a trained adviser will guide you to the right service based on your needs. Whether you require urgent medical advice, an emergency prescription, or need to see a clinician, NHS 111 can provide the support you need during out-of-hours.

Visit Another Local Pharmacy

If your concern is pharmacy-related, you can visit another local pharmacy that’s open. Pharmacies are often able to offer over-the-counter treatments and provide advice on minor health issues. You can find a list of open pharmacies near you using the NHS Pharmacy Finder tool. This will help you locate a pharmacy that can assist you with your needs, even when we’re not available.

Call 999 or Visit A&E

If your condition is serious or life-threatening, such as chest pain, severe difficulty breathing, or a significant injury, don’t hesitate to call 999 for an ambulance or go straight to your nearest A&E department. Emergency situations require immediate attention, and medical professionals at A&E can provide the urgent treatment necessary.

Non-Urgent Queries

If your query is not urgent and can wait until we’re open again, feel free to email us at enquiries@thefamilychemist.co.uk. We’ll respond as soon as possible once we reopen. Your health is important to us, and we want to ensure we address any concerns you have at the earliest opportunity.
